Why Go: Named America’s Favorite Farmers Market in 2022 by American Farmland Trust and the Farmers Market Coalition. Currently undergoing a $33.9 million renovation to add indoor vendor space, shade structures, EV charging, expanded seating, and more — the new Clock Tower Landing opens Spring 2026. A Johnson County weekend tradition with dozens of local growers, bakers, and specialty vendors.

Why Go: Kansas City’s largest open-air farmers market with 140+ local vendors offering produce, plants, baked goods, seafood, and handmade crafts, plus more than 30 permanent merchants open year-round. It’s also home to the Arabia Steamboat Museum, the world’s single largest collection of pre–Civil War artifacts. A perfect way to sample downtown KC’s walkability and energy.

Why Go: Themed weekends, costumed performers, artisan markets, jousting tournaments, and plenty of food and drink. A long-running tradition that immerses visitors in medieval fun.
